What was the Roman Empire?

The map of the Roman Empire

The Roman Empire was a prestigious nation that existed in Europe during the classical times. At first, the Roman Empire began as the small kingdom of Rome. On April 21, 753 B.C., Romulus founded Rome after the murder of his twin brother, Remus. This city later became a republic and later an empire. At its height in 117 A.D., the Roman Empire covered lands from as south as North Africa to lands north in England and from west in Spain to east in Mesopotamia.

The Roman Empire was known for their fine engineering, prestigious architecture, roads, and cities. Their governmental structure was known for impressive feats of law and political organization. They also had a fierce military that helped the empire expand their networks throughout Europe. However, like all nations, the Roman Empire, which seemed like it would last for eternity, came to an end in 476 C.E.
